Republicans release straw poll results

South Dakota Republicans held a straw poll at their State Fair hall Friday through Monday asking the preferences of registered party members on two statewide primaries set for next June..

Here are the results for governor and South Dakota’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Governor: Attorney General Marty Jackley received 1,019 votes. In second place was U.S. Rep. Kristi Noem with 716. Third went to former state Rep. Lora Hubbel at 20. Terry LaFleur received six.

U.S. House: Former state Public Utilities Commissioner Dusty Johnson received 934 votes. Secretary of State Shantel Krebs received 788.
